Registan Madrasah

The setting sun creates the illusion of a gold façade on one of the beautiful madrasahs framing the famed Registan Square in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. The tiger mosaics on the face of the building are historically interesting because they are in direct contrast to the resistance in Islam of the depiction of living beings on religious buildings.
